Goliath Blanket and Rug Drying Bar

SA Washline manufactures the Goliath Blanket and Rug Drying Bar, a wall-mounted 38mm aluminium drying rail built to hold wet blankets and rugs without sagging or bending.

We designed it because a customer in Rosebank asked for something no standard washing line could do. Wet blankets are heavy. A soaking rug is heavier still. Draped over a thin wire or a light line, they pull the wire down, dry with a crease folded into the middle, and often leave a mark where the wire dug in. Most people end up hanging them over a wall or a gate instead, which stains the fabric and takes days to dry.

The Goliath solves that. The 38mm pole is wide enough to spread heavy fabric properly, so blankets and rugs dry flat and evenly with no fold line down the centre. Each bar carries up to 50kg of evenly distributed weight, so nothing droops in the middle no matter how wet the load is.

Air gets to both sides, which matters most with rugs and thick backing that stay damp for days when they're left flat on the ground.

It handles blankets up to King size, and takes rugs, duvets, mattress protectors, curtains, and towels just as easily. It mounts flat against an outside wall and stays there. Nothing to fold away, nothing to wind up.

Available as a single bar or a double bar. The double gives you two levels on the same brackets for 5.2m of hanging space, which is worth it if you wash bedding for more than one bedroom, or if you want a rug and a blanket out at the same time. If 2.6m won't fit your wall we can make it shorter, down to 300mm.

Powder-coated charcoal to match the finish on our foldaway range, and supplied with a full stainless steel mounting kit.
