Boost your washing line
A well-maintained washing line isn’t just about function – it’s also about extending its life, keeping your clothes clean, and making laundry day just a bit easier. Whether you’re an avid air-dryer or a seasonal line-dryer, keeping up with a few maintenance tasks will have your washing line working smoothly year-round.
Wipe before you dry
Before each use, give the lines and frame a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth. This simple step removes dust and dirt, so your freshly washed clothes stay spotless while drying. With just a few swipes, you’ll ensure nothing unwanted finds its way onto your clothes!

Oil Up Every 3 Months
Moving parts are crucial to a smoothly functioning washing line. Apply 3-in-1 oil to any moving parts about once every three months to ensure smooth movement. A single drop to each moving part goes a long way, keeping everything gliding like new and reducing wear.
Adjust the Folding Arm Nut
If you notice the folding arm is too tight or too loose, it’s time for a little adjustment. Tightening or loosening the nut allows the arm to lock securely into place, so it stays put when the frame is up. It’s a small fix that goes a long way in adding stability.
Fold Down When Not in Use
When you’re finished drying, fold your washing line down. Not only does this keep it out of the way, but it also reduces exposure to the elements, prolonging its life. Folding down is a simple habit that saves your line, making it last longer!
