Red Wine Spills

The key to saving your favourite outfit from a red wine disaster is acting fast.

  • As soon as the spill happens, cover it with salt — this will help absorb the liquid before it sets in.

  • Let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.

  • Next, soak the fabric in a solution of white vinegar and water (equal parts) for about 30 minutes before washing as usual.

If the stain persists, repeat the process or try dabbing it with hydrogen peroxide (test on a hidden area first).

Tea & Coffee Spills

Whether you love your morning cuppa or enjoy an afternoon tea break, spills are inevitable.

  • Start by blotting the stain with cold water — avoid rubbing, as that can push the stain deeper into the fabric.

  • Mix 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of water and gently sponge the stain with this solution.

  • Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

For stubborn stains, add a drop of dishwashing liquid and wash as usual

Tomato Sauce Stains

Tomato sauce is a delicious addition to many meals, but it can quickly turn into a nightmare when it lands on your clothes.

  • Scrape Off the Excess. Use a spoon or your fingers to gently remove any solid sauce bits.

  • Soak the stain in cold water for about 5 minutes.

  • Then, grab a toothbrush and gently scrub with some powdered laundry detergent.

  • Wash the garment in hot water and air dry to prevent any remaining stain from setting.
